Critical problem with app registry, Utilities don't help, Accounts disappear, Developer-mode unreachable
Hello,
Today something mad happened to my Jolla. I recorded a video with Whatsapp, and after recording it my Jolla said it's running out of space. So then I was stupid and went to the main screen and pressed the 'x' on few apps that I don't use. That was a mistake, since after that my Jolla started saying 'critical problem with app registry'.
After that Whatsapp no longer opened, or it tried to open, but suggested recovering old conversations, which I tried to do but it crashed at like 90%, and after that it didn't even go past 1%.
Then I came here to search for an answer to that, and followed the advice to fix the app registry with the Utilities... too bad it just boots my Jolla and the problem stays.
Then I tried to go to developer mode to try fixing the problem, and then my Jolla said I need to have an Account to use developer mode, so I went to see Settings -> Accounts, and my Jolla account and mail account had disappeared... Was scared to death, so rebooted Jolla.
Then the Accounts were back, but when I tried to go to developer mode, it only just keeps showing the spinner worm animation.
And now after like 5 hours of trying to get the phone to work again, I'm starting to lose faith. I've searched thru here, and since I can't get to the developer mode I don't know what I should do.
So my problems now are:
- app registry critical
- developer mode doesn't open
- accounts gets missing sometimes when I reboot
- settings in File Browser don't work (if I set "show hidden files", they're not shown, I'd like to get my contacts out someway)
- after booting several times it sometimes only asks for the security code (twice), no longer for the pincode, so it doesn't get connected to the mobile network, SIM card should be properly set, but Jolla states that SIM card is not set.
This is a total nightmare now. All the reboots have different results, and now it seems that if the SIM card is read and the pincode is asked, the accounts are not there, and if pin is not asked, the accounts are there.
Hopefully someone can help me find a solution to this problematic situation.
Your internal storage is full. Now this is either fixable by removing files and executing
btrfs-balancer balance
as root afterwards or by recovering the phone. Last option might delete important files but first might not be usable without working developer mode (did you try to ssh to the phone while it showed the spinning animation?).Oh wait, another thing that could work might be removing files from within recovery mode. I don't have much experience with the recovery mode, so I hope others will help here.
//EDIT: Another thing you could try (but don't have high hopes) is removing large android apps (at least one to be able to start developer mode and remove more from there).
