When manually installing Android APK via Settings -> System settings -> Transfers it's not possible to display and review application rights. It would be helpful to display required rights similarly to how these are displayed in Google Play when installing application.

What would be even better is to allow users to modify the rights similarly to how it's done in App Ops (recently removed by Google) or Cyanogenmod.

A small popup telling "Do you want to install X app? Yes/No" would be nice too...

Yes/No question with the rights needed by application (like in the Android) would be sufficient for me.

What you can do is installing an application which displays you required rights of your Android apps (basically an Android application manager).

When you want to install an application, install it, go to the Android application manager before running the newly installed app for the first time, displays the required rights of your new app and uninstall it if necessary.

Which application manager is that? What if the app is not in the manager's repo? I have some installed directly from .apk.

I use Elmar Hanlhofer's "Permission Remover" from http://www.plop.at/de/android.html

Workflow when manipulating app rights (with PermissionRemover already installed):

-transfer desiered .apk to /home/nemo/android_storage/

-launch Permission Remover

-select "Install from SD".

-tick permissions you want to remove OR install unchanged.

Alternatively you can manipulate permissions of already installed apps.

Anyone has a better solution?
