Use the Jolla mobile for traveling is really uncomfortable. I had a lot of trouble on setup the mobile for international roaming I try different apn without success.

Would be useful a wizard for manual apn discovery and selection.

Also during the test some time the mobile network discovery go KO so I had to reboot the smartphone.
for just one day the EE operator was not discoverable just (T-mobile and vodafon UK).
for the operator O2 was not activable manually Jolla enable it only if on "auto network selection"

No trouble for my friends with an old lumia and Android mobile, why the was able to use the mobile connection without change?
Also the mobile has a lot of problem on switch operator it become really hot for example:
UK(T-mobile) -> flight mode on -> flight mode off -> IT (CoopVoce aka TIM) the mobile become hot and I had to reboot it two time

There were lots of threads here on TJC about roaming issues during the summer of 2014. I experienced such issues myself last year. Seems like nothing has changed so I need to take a back-up phone with me again.

I read the threads from 2014 so took a back-up 'phone with me to Cyprus 2 weeks ago, just in case. I was really lucky and had no problems at all. Also, I heard other people moaning that they couldn't connect to the hotel Wi-Fi unless they were in the lobby. Again, my Jolla worked perfectly (I felt smug!) Seems like the luck of the draw as to which faults/bugs you get!

It's really hard to tell what exactly the issue you were facing but within month I've personally used my Jolla phone in 7 different countries and had zero problems using mobile data.

To debug further your issue I would need logs from your device (connman/ofono/rild) during the next time your device is having issues.

For connman logs:

1) You need root-privileges which you can get "devel-su" and of course the developer mode enabled.

2) edit /lib/systemd/system/connman.service (add "-d" to connmand launch parameters: ExecStart=/usr/sbin/connmand -nd --nobacktrace --systemd $TRACING and exit after saving)

3) edit /etc/systemd/journald.conf (Modify RateLimitInterval and RateLimitBurst to zero and exit after saving)

4) reboot

5) reproduce the problem

6) export the logs with "journalctl -ba > connman.log"

For the ofono:

1) edit /lib/systemd/system/ofono.service (add "-d" to the ofono launch parameters: ExecStart=/usr/sbin/ofonod -nd --nobacktrace $OFONO_ARGS)

2) reboot

3) reproduce the problem

4) export the logs with "journalctl -ba > ofono.log"

For the rild:

1) Run "/system/bin/logcat -b radio -v time |tee rild.log" (this needs to be running all the time while reproducing the problem)

2) Reproduce the problem

Get the rild.log, ofono.log and connman.log out of the device with scp, usb-mtp... and send them to tigeli@jolla.com.
