I know, there are already dozens of threads about troubles with MTP, but my problem is a bit different.

I am using Debian Linux with KDE, my configuration for MTP-Connection is described in this comment and has not changed since. Connecting my Jolla and my Notebook via MTP has worked for me quite well most of the time.

But for a few weeks now it doesn't work any more. When I connect my Jolla with my notebook it is still recognised by the system and the file manager, but when I click on it to view the files nothing happens. After a while an error message occours that the process for the MTP-protocol has stopped unexpectedly. The problem is similar when I connect the Jolla to a Windows 7 PC. In Windows the Jolla is not even recognised, only as an unknown USB device.

Exchanging files via developer-mode and SFTP works, so a hardware defect like a broken cable can be excluded. It must be a problem on the software-side. As far as I know my Jolla and Sailfish OS I think this bug could be caused by a broken configuration file or something similar. I would like to examine this. Has anybody a hint where to look for? I want to avoid doing a factory-reset as far as possible.

Edit 22.7.2015: I investigated this case and found the root of this problems, see this post. I will close this issue here.
