Support special character input from hardware keyboard [answered]

Thanks for your feedback, Dirk. Actually this was directed at Jolla, as I thought it's their job rather than yours (that's why I created a separate feature request and did not regard it redundant). As the FAQ said that we needed to wait for Sailfish update (note that there's no "next" in there ;-), and has been updated after the latest release (still saying it) I wasn't sure whether this is actually on the roadmap or rather like thinking-about-it™ or soon™.

That's why I created a request to cast a vote for. Good to know it is actually being worked on. Question answered, thanks :)

Actually I understand why this question is asked here: IIRC, the old version of the FAQs was worded in a way that could be interpreted as "1.1.7 will fix it". Also, the changelog for 1.1.7 lists "Added configuration for hardware layouts" as a new feature... which simply isn't true. There's a UI in the system settings that apparently does nothing.

So it's valid to ask Jolla (not the TOHKBD team) what's going on there.I don't fully understand why the question is closed.

@ossi1967 I closed it myself, trusting Dirk that this is actually being worked on and SF2 will fix it. From a feature-request perspective, however, it would rather be open (as it has not been released so far). Personally, I don't care as long as they make it work soon (rather than soon™) ;-)
