Noticed after updating most recent firmware and new aliendalvik that my currently installed android applications have no sound at all. Also figured out how to "fix" this more or less known feature of aliendalvik. You need to restart aliendalvik process (systemctl restart aliendalvik.service in developer mode). This problem is not directly a sailfish issue so should be concidered only as a "good to know" feature of aliendalvik.

Hopefully future releases of aliendalvik are going to make this issue more rare.

hopefully some dev can report this issue back to aliendalvik

I've tried the fix multiple times, but still no audio. I have removed the android appilcation and reinstalled, even removed the android application folder to rule out any application spesific issues.

Any other suggestions? This making the device unusable for me :(

Final solution was to wipe out the alien, and reinstall it. It killed the bug, so now I got sound. Lost some browser bookmarks and login data. No sweat. Backup is always a good thing. I use CLEAN MASTER from Aptoide. Rsync works like a charm. Alles in Ordnung! :)

Thanks, you did the precise fix. I took the long workaround by factory reset ;) Works now too.

No sound on adroid apps, damn. Will the fix be in this months update?

This has been fixed already right after Christmas andreas1. What version of SW do you have?

At least when I'm listening music with the Media app, if I open android app, it doesn't have audio. Need to stop audio playback + reset the Alien Dalvik service to get android audio back. Software version 1.0.3.8 Naamankajärvi.

Software version is 1.0.3.8 Naamankajärvi. If I reboot phone, then use for example spotify or whatever andro app, there is no sound.

I have 'virgin' 1.0.5.16 (update after device reset) and no audio in android apps. It was working in 1.0.4.20

The workaround with systemctl restart aliendalvik.service worked once. Now I cannot get it to work again!

Poweroff, Baterry out... works now, and I hope it stays that way.
