Hello, i thought about the configuration transfer of a W-Lan hotspot on the phone to the tablet. In lack of a sim support on the tablet, the only way using internet on the tablet if no other W-Lan hotspot is present, is to use the phone as hotspot. The W-Lan security depends sigificant on the passphrase you use. So is you use 63 alpha numeric characters it is not easy to configure the W-Lan on both devices (especially if the passphrase are random generated). So it would be a nice feature if it is possible to show the W-Lan configuration as a QR-Code on the display of the phone and can be scanned and importet on the tablet.

I have to observe, that AVMs Fritz Box shows also a QR-Code for the W-Lan settings. May be there is a standard format for the configuration.

Nice idea! This should work for any other device (android/iphone) too. I know that QR codes for automatic network settings for android exist, but AFAIK not for iphones or windows phones or windows tablets/pcs.

The settings page could have an downsideUp screen for the QR-code.

The QR-code would be a good idea for the Jolla router software too. Right now my family enjoys 4G connectivity in a cottage without electricity. A few additional setting would make the setup perfect.

Added this idea to my "router-with-a-touch-screen" question.
