Now that Sailfish 2.0 has the three-finger swipe for volume, it would be really cool to have a tablet version that has no buttons at all - a completely solid piece of hardware with no moving parts at all!

A paper-clip hole could allow emergency reset, and plugging in the charger could also be used as a physical interaction if needed, but on the whole it could be completely button free!

Edit: Actually, this would be really good for a phone too, I would never again have the "my phone turned off in my jeans pocket because the button got pressed"-silent failure.

It never turns off :-)

OK, if you really need it: Turn off as usual, via a system menu option. Turn on by plugging in the USB power connector, or by the paper-clip hole.

That's not the way I use my current tablet and will use the Jolla one. It's normally powered off and when I need it I power it on pushing a very convenient button.

I have my tablet plugged in when not in use, that way my battery is always full when I need it and there is no boot-up time.
