I would sincerely doubt that Intex would dabble in the Other Half concept. The big advantage of Sailfish for a company like theirs is that you can fairly easily install the OS on existing mobile hardware, and Intex has a whole lot of existing mobile hardware to work with. It should take much less time and money to just create Sailfish-based versions of their existing phones than try and create new devices from whole cloth...
@vattuvarg Oh, absolutely! I personally think the OH concept is extremely attractive for many different kinds of consumer. I just don't see a company like Intex getting behind that concept, at least not in the short term; the phone hardware they've chosen appears fairly conservative to my eyes...

MartinK ( 2015-08-24 22:40:55 +0200 )editPersonally I am curious about the Intex device(s) whether OH-compliant or not. ...especially if it is smaller than the current Jolla phone. A dualSIM phone would be interesting too.
I had high hopes to buy my daughter a Jolla phone for her birthday. That didn't happen. Maybe as her next phone, who knows?

It would be nice if one/some of their devices would be for sale outside India with stock Sailfish (i.e. no local content/app customization), perhaps as a replacement for, or complement to, their current device.
Pim ( 2015-08-24 15:40:16 +0200 )editIs it possible Intex has their own software solutions to provide/patch the basic features that are missing/buggy in Jolla SailfishOS? I'm kind of interested if that is the case and if I could localize the phone to Europe.
