SailfishOS2.0 is not released to public. The next version (with SailfishOS2.0 UI) seems to be 1.1.9.x
crazy v2 will be released as v1.1.9
in computerworld there were habbit = major number = same ui, subversions = bug fixes, small improvements...
anyway, update set to manual checking, no visition of jolla store and i hope i will not see update notification
i think that people should read about what is sailfish 2, before updating, most of jolla users will be probably disapointed!
pan tau ( 2015-09-07 08:17:12 +0200 )edit@ossi1967 As you may already know, it's common to use, say, version 5.99.x to indicate version 6.0 release candidate or beta release, so that when the first release actually happens, the major version gets bumped. So 1.1.9.x will indicate pre-releases, and 1.2.x.x - or 2.x.x.x if you ask me - will end up the actual release version.

sorry i didnt read that it will be pre-release only, otherwise someone would thing that 1.1.9 is still v1 while we talking about sailfish 1, and Sailfish 2 should be like 1.99.x.x RC and (2.x.x.x final) 1.2.x.x still act like Sailfish 1 to me :) but nevermind names of their lakes are better to use :p
pan tau ( 2015-09-08 18:17:22 +0200 )edit@Direc@pan tau "Sailfish 2.0" is a marketing label, not a version number. (The version numbers in question being 1.1.9 and 1.2.x, as you pointed out correctly, not 2.0.) 1.1.7 could have been called "Sailfish 2.0" if Jolla had wanted it that way. From the first screenshots I saw of 1.1.9, it will be called "Sailfish 2.0". (Although this can still change.) There's nothing that indicates it will be a pre-release, quite on the contrary. It's a regular, full featured release like all the others before.
ossi1967 ( 2015-09-08 18:34:54 +0200 )editDisclaimer: I am not responsible for you breaking your device! This is on your own risk and in no way the intendet way to do this! It worked perfectly fine in my case but i guarentee nothing!
You have to ssh into the jolla and enter the following commands:
devel-su (this will request your password; enter it)
ssu release 1.1.9.28
version --dup
Then wait until the process is finished. While doing this dont touch your jolla. After it is done just enter
reboot
to reboot your jolla. It will take a while to start, then you are on sailfish os 2.0!
Thanks for posting this method. Which kind of problem can we see later with trying this way to get 2.0?
malibu1106 ( 2015-09-06 16:36:59 +0200 )edit@nthn any possiblities to downgrade after ? Or are you sure to have access normally to futures updates ?
malibu1106 ( 2015-09-06 19:25:50 +0200 )editIt's also possible to force the version in the Jolla store. This way the upgrade process will be the same of a normal update (and a bit more safer than version -dup).
Note: Obviously, you shouldn't really do this if you don't know what you're doing. With this method you can install releases that aren't meant for public consumption. It's up to you to get the correct version number.
/home/nemo/.cache/store-client/os-info
and set the version
key with the version you want to upgrade to.Ensure that the store-client is closed:
killall store-client
Did not work. Changed version=... to 2.0.2.45 (the version I am currently running), opened Store and almost immediately got a system popup offering me an "upgrade" to 2.0.1.11 (the current official version). Closed and killed Store, opened os-info and found version=... reverted back to 2.0.1.11.
pichlo ( 2016-06-19 10:52:06 +0200 )editBut how soon this update will be in official updates for opt-in users? Becouse I'm very interested about this version but same time i have to keep my jolla in shape and working.
According to Simo Ruoho's blog, possibly today. (http://reviewjolla.blogspot.fi/2015/08/sailfish-os-20-delays.html)

As chemist has already mentioned it's not released dude. Take a chill pill. Wait for a day or two, it's anticipated this week! A phone running 1.1.7 is better than one stuck at bootloop just like mine.
