[Feature request] Show download info and status in new "Events" feed

When download is started a notification is raised. However there is no way to know what is going on until you go to Settings. Placing this info in Events feed would ease interaction.
Agree the events view needs at least an entry for a started download otherwise a beginner user would not know where to find the download. I would like to see even a download progressbar in the eventsview.
