I have Outlook 365 account connected as Microsoft Exchange, and I was checking how my Jolla shows up in mobile devices list. I found the following Jolla-specifig information (Applications - email - settings (gear icon) - Options - General - Mobile devices) - Details (pen icon) in the view (uninteresting ones excluded):

  • Device name: Jolla
  • Device model: JP1301
  • Phone number: (empty)
  • Mobile network: (empty)
  • Device type: SailfishOS
  • Device ID: JP[IMEI]
  • Device IMEI: [IMEI]
  • Device OS: SailfishOS 1.0
  • User agent: Sailfishos/1.0-EAS-0.8.17
  • Policy application status: Applied in full
  • ActiveSync version: 14.0

Now, as I'm running 1.1.9.28 2.0.0.10, which is supposed to be SailfishOS 2.0, those two fields are errorneous. This is of course very minor issue, but version bump should be made. Thanks!

EDIT: Now running Saimaa 2.0.0.10. Modified tags and title accordingly.

That's not correct at all. 1.1.9.28 is as the version number says sailfish os 1.x technically, As stated in release note you have the UI of SFOS 2.0 but the technical transistion will be complete with 1.2.x which is supposed to be the next realese candiate. I think the version numbers fits (technically) :)

Well, yeah... You are kind of right. The internal version number should asymptotically approach 1.2.0.0 which is almost but not quite SailfishOS 2.0. But: as this is already early access aka beta release, if not release candidate even, externally it should advertise itself as SailfishOS 2.0 whenever possible.

Let's wait the actual release, and if the version bump happens then, I'll accept your answer :)

Shall I close the question or rest it open till next release?

Please leave it open - I'll get back to this after 2.0 is released. Thanks!

No worries, excited to see if it changes with the next release ;)

Almost forgot about this one, but SailfishOS 2.0 has been out and installed for a good while now; the version string is still the same. Dang! This is too minor to be fixed, i think :P
