This is not so much a question as a petition to have the landscaped covers back :)
Having the apps in the covers as if they were running was a really cool show-off feature, and no for no fathomable reason it's gone :(

Was looking the full changelog of 1.1.9.28, it's seems to be a choice .. Well done .. Another bad choice ! thanks jolla ..

What exactly are/were those "landscaped covers"?

While in general I don't mind the covers being always in portrait mode, it's a bit weird how landscaped views are cropped to fit into the portrait covers. IMO the cover should either be displayed as if the app was used in portrait mode, or otherwise use adopt the orientation of the app (as requested here).

The gallery cover was usefull when you need to see some detail in a picture, now you can't open your picture, zoom on something, and use the cover to see it again ..
