On change to the ambiance select menu it´s not possible to lock to device with one swipe..

Here is an idea to implement the old beloved feature:

  • short swipe to lock, meanes a swipe down without standing on a position
  • long swipe to open ambiance selector, means a swipe with standing to select an option

Edit:

there is a patch but i want this as default implementation for all useres! Thanks @eson

patch restore swipe to lock

IMO: Applying patches is sometimes risky. Just updates could break your device if your not carefully. So i´m to lazy to uninstall patchmanager / patches before update. Also i update a lot (early adopter). And i think it would be great for all users.

Edit: After Update to 2.0.2.48 Aurajoki the patch did not work anymore...

which is what the patch does ;-) but yes, it should be a patch but standard behaviour

Never used patches before 2.0. Will have to start now. Jolla, please, add a short / long swipe combo as default! It may be optional.

I would also like to get it back that when I swipe down it locks the phone! It was much faster than "swipe and tap".

I totally agree! It's Gesture-oriented OS, so it's very important feature. I miss it the most of all patches.

(patch dev here) Restore swipe to lock has been updated for 2.0.2 since quite sometime. Now that 2.0.2 is finally in EA I will push an up-to-date package to openrepos (this weekend probably, if not tonight).

There's already a patch for that, at OpenRepos.

This should be the default behavior. It works really well.

@evo3de You don't have to uninstall patchmanager / patches. Just "Unapply patch" and "Restart preloaded services" from inside patchmanager, before upgrading SFOS. But of course it's your choice, to avoid patches.

@sevanteri Couldn't agree more!

@eson ok, my fault. But i have to manage at moment 3 and may in future up to 25 devices. Setting up by hand could be difficult ;)

Hi, I installed new version 2.0.0.10 yesterday and Swipe to lock is still missing. Does anybody know whether there is some intention to return it back? Development Roadmap doesn't show anything maybe only the fact that a lot of promised functionality for Q3 2015 is still missing. Yes, I'm using above mentioned patch as swipe to lock is for me one of the most used action (with double tap to wake up the phone) but this isn't the way to go.
