I agree, but for me would be enough to make it the same way as it is N9. Many passwords contains charaters like !, -, _ and it was much easier for me to type passwords on N9 instead of switching to numeric keyboard and sometimes to the second page.
cropas ( 2014-01-06 18:24:55 +0200 )editDash ("-") and "@", both is often needed and missing on keyboard main page.
jgr ( 2014-01-06 21:03:12 +0200 )editThis could also be shown only when typing to email or password fields (input type email/password). I think that is also how iPhones etc. show @ in keyboard by default
clashi ( 2014-01-06 23:01:22 +0200 )editMany VKBs have a secondary character assigned to each key so that long-press on a key inserts that secondary character. A bit longer press opens eventually a list of possible letters with diacritics.
strnous ( 2014-01-06 23:33:17 +0200 )editAgreed that email address and url field specific keyboard layouts would be nice. Meanwhile, have you noticed that there's feature that makes inserting @-character relatively painless: press ?123-key, hold your finger down, slide it on top of @-key, then release. As @-key is located near to ?123-key, I personally find this way faster than anything that involves a long key press.
