Internet connection "when needed" option
While I do appreciate the connectivity of a smartphone, I miss the option I had in Symbian to use a data connection (mobile / wi-fi) only when needed.
It would be nice if there was an option for this which would also help save battery by only going online from time to time (to refresh e-mails and other notifications). Currently, it seems to me that the phone stays connected to the internet at all times, as long as there is a connection available.
I have seen similar posts related to the internet connection, but I think they describe different issues: https://together.jolla.com/question/8877/manually-select-internet-connection-legacy-option/ https://together.jolla.com/question/5309/allow-to-set-wlan-or-mobile-data-preference/
i think it would be very difficult to define "needed" for a smatphone like this. Either you have to cut all the services, that "need" to be online like Facebook, twitter, Google, whatsapp (for notifications, syncing and so on) and only for opening the browser or refreshing emails the connection is established or the connections stays online all the time even with the "when needed"-Option.

But this doesn't defeat the purpose of the option, because it should happen if the user is aware of it. Related: https://together.jolla.com/question/9670/api-security-model/
