Hi!

Just upgraded to Sailfish 2.0 this morning. Not amused so far, but that may be just because I was so used to the old ways...

There are just 2 things I won't do without! How do I silence my phone? It used to be in the pulley after unlocking, now I can't figure out how to get it back. AND I WANT TO GET IT BACK! Come on guys! Its not that hard... The other slighty less anoying thing is that the "clear all" pulley in the notification screen is gone. I spend way to much time longpressing and clearing every single item since this morning. It used to be so much easier! and again, guys ... ITS NOT SO HARD TO GIVE THIS FUCKER BACK!! Sorry... Its just, I'm really disappointed with this update. This stupid animation takes forever, the lockscreen feels unresponsive and I can't get back to it. You know, to use that superb shortcut function you guys castrated by removing my beloved "silence sounds" option.

Btw, I won't install third party patches to fix certain issues! If I wanted that, I would have bought some cheap generic android shit.

Sorry for ranting, I may take a while to calm down after this upgrade...

I wonder what's the point since silencing the phone is allways button press away thought.

To silence the phone you must choose the "Silent" ambience from the top menu. I agree it's not ideal.

The "clear all" action is still available in the events view. You must do a longpress on the view to make the pulley menu visible, though.

Like you say, it's not ideal. I don't want to change the ambiance, I just want to put the phone in silence mode. As it is now, I have to create two versions of all ambiances, one with sound and one silent.

You can also use the volume buttons to silence the phone, no need to change ambience

Yes the volume button use is reminiscent of the N9...as the Jolla goes back to its roots for inspiration.

I wonder why they keep doing it... I started with Maemo on the N900. The N9 was great, Sailfish felt just as good, except that some shortcuts went away and some new were created. Now with 2.0 its the same thing. Still feels good, but you always have to relearn some basic things. It gets really annoying at some point

Yeah, but using the volume button for this is a nuisance, as it changes the ringtone volume as well. So, when I "unsilence" the phone, I actually have to pay attention to set the ringtone value to the same value as before. With the "Silence Sounds" short-cut, no such extra attention was necessary - it was a quick "off" or "restore to previous value".
