My project: making ambience album. How I could manage this project?

Hi everyone and Jolla personnel!

My name is Ari Järviö. I love music. My enthusiasm are guitar playing and singing.

This is my plan: I've been planning long time that I want to make own music and create own album. It will not be a traditional cd-album, it will be Sailfish ambience album. In album there would be several photos (because album is not an album without photos ;D ), there would be normal songs, there would be also short ringtones and notification sounds. This is not my idea actually. I heard this idea from some news where Jolla told that The Other Half would have an music album in theory, too.

But... because making smartphone albums might be unusual thing (I think so), unfortunately I'm not yet sure can I manage to implement this. I need some help, advices, encourage etc.

I've some questions:

  • Though I could manage to make this album how can I share my ambience album? Would Jolla shop be potential place, or Openrepose.net etc?

  • I noticed there's some ambiences on Openrepos.net. It means there are people who can make ambiences. If you read my idea can you give me advices?

And who am I? Why I'm trying to do this? I'm just a normal guy. I don't exept any money by making music. I want to do this because I love Jolla and Jolla's Sailfish. I love music, too, so I want to do what I love and I would like to share it. And I believe Sailfish is much more than just a smartphone. :)

This is the idea, but I need help, answers and support. Thank you if you would like to help me. :)

If things haven't changed recently, you can share it through the official Jolla store ("Harbour") only if it's bundled with an "Other Half" hardware. That means you'd have to go all the way and build a "hardware cover" for you album. The NFC tag on it would be registered in the Jolla store and trigger the download.

I do assume that you don't want to do this for your first project, so Openrepos should be your place. For information on how to create an ambience in the first place, see this question. It contains a few links to start from.

With Sailfish 2.0, there seems to be a little change discussed here.

The case about The Other Half could be too difficult mission for me. :D Big thanks for helping, ossi1967. :)
