unsafe password(s) in e-mail accounts [off-topic]

asked 2015-10-16 18:54:46 +0300

When entering the server settings of e-mail accounts and pushing 'backspace' the whole plain text password will be shown. So just add a few more characters, hold backspace and you have the full password. Brilliant!

I could not reproduce it. I tried editing one of my 5 accounts as well as creating a new fake one. All of a "general mail" kind. Perhaps more detailed steps to reproduce might help?

Possibly you are right. Could be only valid for a short time after creation. Needed to fiddle a bit, too. (that's how I discovered)

Try that: change the password, swipe right, enter settings again and add 'qqqqqqqqq', swipe right, enter settings again, click in password field and hold backspace

Okay. False alarm. ;)

Seems that behaviour is only valid until you have that account open. If you leave that account only 'default' appears as password.
