Remove shortcuts dots in events view

Although the dots above the shortcuts in the events view are a visual distinctive features of Sailfish they just waste important space. Maybe using a three colours scheme for the shortcuts to indicate the inactive/disabled/enabled state could be a better solution. Also putting 6 rather than 4 shortcuts per row could also help to save space

And how do you think you can separate toggles from links? They share the same icon!

The grid can be modified for landscape to reduce vertical space between items. But while it is scrollable I have no problem with it. The real problem, I think, is the phone width in landscape (with 16:9 aspect ratio) which makes grid squares extra large.

Colorful icons need more brain work to understand the real state, are harder to see on some ambiences, and have problems for color-blinded people.

the whole icon could 'shine' or not, based on state

@pawel and again => how do you differentiate between link and toggle?

I agree there is room for improvement. The toggles in events view are a nice feature but there is a teeny-weeny cosmetic problem. They stretch accross the whole screen width, which works nicely in portrait but, rotated to landscape (provided you have landscape rotation enabled), this looks rather odd. I imagine it must look even odder on the tablet.

The same goes for the weather forecast. Not to mention that Weather fits 5 icons to the screen while there are only 4 toggles. I think 5 works better visually for portrait and something like 8 for landscape.

The tablet doesn't have the shortcuts and quick actions in the pulley menu (see https://cdn.jolla.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Jolla-Tablet-Event-View.png) but there is instead a sidebar (that IMHO looks pretty nice, but I need to put my hands on a tablet to confirm it ;) ).

I stand corrected. However, the phone did not have them either in 1.1.9, they came with 2.0.0. What OS version is that tablet screenshot from?

@pichlo tab and phone are the same version, tablet does not have the pulley like the phone because there is enough estate to show shortcuts always. Your issue also only applies if you have the all rotate patch installed which is then a bug of that patch as it would need to change the pulley layout for landscape as well!

@chemist, thanks but that does not answer my question. At least according to @g7's URL, the screenshot dates from August. Can someone with a tablet updated to 2.0.0 confirm what the screen looks like? After all, the shortcuts on the right are available on the phone as well with another patch.

You might say it is the patch's fault (or mine for using a patch - naughty, naughty me) and you might well be right. Still, I maintain that 5 icons would look better than 4 and would line up better with the Weather forecast :)

Did not change, and on the phone 4 is just right, keep in mind that it needs to be accident free... and for all I know, I got lots set up already and I do not need to scroll anything. What I found annoying with the old Settings setup already, is that; it is actually upside-down for single hand usage > that is something we should talk about!
