It is already being discussed in [Talk Maemo.org topic "Community saving Jolla and Sailfish OS ?"] (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=96201)

How to save the Jolla Tablet and Sailfish OS ?

Jolla should make available choices for the community to finance Jolla & Sailfish OS :

1) Indiegogo campaing to finance Jolla : - finishing the Jolla Tablet deliveries; - further developing Sailfish OS 2.x for tablets; - making Sailfish OS 2.x for tablet available as an image to install on one or two popular and available tablet(s) (with open bootloader, maybe Nexus 9, etc).

2) Indiegogo campaing to finance Jolla : - further development of Sailfish OS in general; - making Sailfish OS 2.x for other smartphones as an image to install on some popular and available smartphones (with open bootloader, like some Nexus 5/6, etc).

3) Alien Dalvik could be a paid option to whom want it in these non-Jolla smartphones & tablets.

I would pay for the 3 above options.

I think these initiatives could bring some millions of US$ to Jolla.

that's not realistic!!! with none of these plans could you save a company like this. how could you pay 125 people with it? it's done in one month, then is finished. the tablet is just a minimal part of the investment.
That's just a springboard with the phone to spread the os, for earning money.
that a plane for the arms.
could all the people stop to work egoistic by just thinking on his own tablet?
the first point don't make the situation better. To solve the situation with a igg campaign should you give a price for paying employee too. not such a price with 200$ (just hardware with less margin), but x4.
the 3th one is a complete non-sense. do you know that the library is open and used on other system? how do you engaged this "strategy" without conflict? wouaw.

First: realistic or not is not for us to decide. If it buys the company more time, we may end up receiving what was promised (e.g. tablets), or maybe Jolla will get into the second round of financing. Either of which would be a victory. I think it is a good and valid approach to try and bounce some ideas so we may come to a solution together. Sometimes people tend to forget what this whole thing was all about.

Anyways, I would like to add a more "passiv" approach, however I think it could help a lot: I would like to urge everyone to register their interest at Intex for the Sailfish OS phone: Register interest in Intex Sailfish OS Phone

We all know that it is most crucial that the licensing deals will go through asap. And since we do not have to invest money right-away, I think everyone here could easily participate.

Thanks for collecting ideas and caring.

agree with you. and make a remark that i didn't critic this "approach", but commented the solutions as not realistic. There is a small difference.
