Clicking sound with headphones [duplicate]

While wearing headphones, when no music is playing, I hear clicks at a rate of about 5 Hz. Reboot did not help. Could that be a software bug or defective hardware?

What model are the headphones? Are they handsfree and if so, what phone are they made for?
