Most electronic devices with lcd, telephones, cameras etc will at a certain temperature and time exposure fail in cold wrsther. It can be the screen or it can be the batteries.
Therefore always store your phone in a pocket warmer than the outside - it could be good not to keep it above 0C becsuse you may have condensation both outside as well as inside. This is not good.
Try not to breath onto the phone as that might also add condensation.
When the phone has been cold for a long time when warming it do so with the phone inside a plastic bag to avoid condensation.
Anothet risk in severe cold is electric discharges - static electricity. The colder the more pronounced.
The cold will without mercy show you if the batteries are getting bad.
Otherwise cold is a lot of fun :)
Someone just tweeted couple of days ago that Jolla works well in these temperatures. I haven't noticed any issues yet but then again maybe I haven't stayed outside that long either :) Maybe 30min or so in -22C.

However, I have the slight worry that hot temperatures can cause these yellowish spots on the display quite some users suffer. At least my first Jolla had these and they seemd to intensify when the phone became hot by usage (CPU or Transceiver).
