Dear Jolla,

It's a month ago when the news arrived Jolla is "back in business", as could be read on blog.jolla.com. Since then, we haven't seen any signs of a company that's getting out of (financial) problems:
- It's not sure if all backers receive their tablet.
- There were no updates for Sailfish.
- No news about a new phone/device (I hope you understand you can earn money by selling products...although I doubt this when there's <1 new device per year). The part between the parenthesis is a rather less subtle hint ;-)

Please Jolla, is there any progress regarding to the financial status of Jolla? What can we expect to happen the coming months?

financial status was already told. please be truthful on it. Then don't forget that a part of coworker didn't want to stay. On reduced capacity, they should organize itself in other way. and rhythm should start slowly. Seems that a part have already started. but need time to give concrete information. nothing help to give pressure on them. they inform if the time comes.

@richdb don't know if it's a serious selling website. Is an important information indeed, but according to me has nothing to do with the above thread. It may have its own one.... May hide a fraud action.

There is a little information that came out last week (at least about the tablet), maybe you saw it in the blog comments:

"statement from Juhani Lassila, Head of communications @ Jolla : Antti Saarnio promised in the previous meeting that the Tablet project would be resolved around New Year?s time, but unfortunately it took a little more time. Now we finally have a resolution agreed and we?re now preparing the practicalities and the communication. An update should be out in a few days (next week)."

This was from last Thursday (14.01.16). Quite interesting to note that they already have the tablet situation resolved. This might give some insight into the financial standings of the company. We should know this week if they keep their word this time.

I will answer some of it and will again ask you to not post questions like this every 7 days or so... For the silence, there is MWC coming up the next month and in a couple of days FOSDEM. If they disclose anything, then it will happen on those events, with a proper press coverage ans such - the is called simple math (sorry to put it this harsh but it seems like people do not understand a single bit about business these days).

  1. Was promised we will get news the next couple of days/weeks.
  2. In community meeting it was said we might get an EA this week. You know, in western countries there was something called Christmas-Holidays.
  3. Jolla didn't make any money with selling hardware yet.

Last but not least, Jolla is a company and will for sure not disclose all financial details and for sure not all steering decisions.

Business?? People are here because they own a Jolla phone. So they ask legal questions. And after the situation of a few months ago I find this kind of questions not weird at all. Maybe the business need to learn how they inform their current customers? But again, this is just my opinion.

customers should as all socially oriented human on earth know to read and reread for well understanding what is communicated. Then is just a question of patience.

@richdb and which part of "We are sailing again and will update you next year!" didn't you understand?

@chemist Maybe you should read the comments of customers of the last blog on blog.jolla.com. It is not me, lot of customers deserve an answer. And not some planned business news on a FOSDEM or MWC. All that customers made what Jolla is now. So a message like "we are sailing again and will update you next year!" is not enough in the eyes of many customers. And I think they have a good point.

@richdb and give an answer by responding bulshit because you don't know how you could organize yourself is better? organisation is done if all people come on a round-table especially the developers who make the code evolution. is not easy if the staff is reduced. and a reorganisation should be done. what do you need more? there is communication with all the info they have (apart the name of the new investors, that comes soon).
