Lastu Jolla tablet case - what to do now?

Hey community. We all know a lot of bad temper has been spread in the blog. I'd like to put that aside and deal with the practicalities..

As many of us have ordered cases for the tablet but will not receive the tablet - and clearly cannot expect a refund for the case - i was wondering: What can we do with that high quality nature material surely expensive customized lastu case? Does anyone have a clue what tablet fits well into it?

Someone sad he or she modified the case for a tablet to fit in. Maybe if people did so, can you post how you did that and what was necessary to adapt it to another tablet?

As i would love to have a linux tablet, the perfect combination would be a tablet in a similar form factor - fitting into the case - that is somehow hackable, so i can fulfill my wish of having a rel linux tablet in my hands.

Any ideas or feedback is very much appreciated! Thanks for your time and for the answers and a great weekend, everyone!

I don't know if it is a good idea.
For those who had get their lastu but not the tablet, they could put the article in a market like ebay.
And give the link in tjc, so that those who have their tablets but no lastu could access on it.

Great weekend too.

I added a custom laser engraving wih a logo. I'd like to keep that of course + i think that will most likely lower the value for other people..

you could put further characters for making jollahahihoo!!! or something like that. (sorry for the bad joke).

concretely some people have already get their device. That would be not a bad idea if someone find an idea to join those who have or will have one, and want to have a lastu. too. especially with jolla engraved on it.

no it is a custom engraving. that's the problem :)

do you mean it is not written jolla but something more private?

A direct quote from the Jolla blog:

"2. Refund the remaining Indiegogo contributors: Jolla aims to refund the total contribution, including shipping and all accessories. Due to the financial constraints this will happen in two parts: half of the refund will be done during Q1/2016, and the other half within a year, our financial situation permitting."

I assume "all accessories" include also the Lastu case.

I doubt that very much as i already had the case delivered to my home. It was advertised by Jolla to order it directly from lastu. that's what i did, adding a custom laser engraving wih my logo. Thus, i believe i will not be able to sell it nor to get a refund for it.. bad luck :(

Oh! Didn't know this. I thought they would deliver those with the tablet itself.

You can try buying the tablet from China.. I see the Chinese wholesalers are offering it either with SailfishOS or with Android preinstalled. Not quite ready to place an order myself (waiting to see if I get offered a tablet by Jolla!) but I may well do soon.

tablets from taobao do not have Sailfish but only android installed. Also they are not easy to port back to sailfish because the BIOS Key likely have changed as stskeeps stated on TMO... Only buy them if you plan to use an android tablet with your lastu case ;)

@mosen: they have Sailfish as an option. The description on TaoBao says "if you are a Sailfish fan and want it instead of Android, please contact us". (My interpretation of bad Google translation).

Exactly, there is much room for interpretation. But as Jolla said they have no relationship to taobao sellers, i doubt the info they can switch it to sailfish by sending it to finland. LOL.. Maybe they have some tablets that where/are originally flashed to sailfish available and invent a story how it got there?I think at production, they used Sailfish eMMC to flash to all tablets. Then no money came from jolla and factory decided to produce another batch with android and different signing keys.
