Regrettably, my Jolla phone screen cracked the other day :(

The battery, and the other half orange, and (spare) black are in great condition. The battery keeps a good charge.

Does anyone want these free (to a good home). Happy to pay postage (from UK).

I appreciate this is not a tech question, but would offer anyway.

Thanks

Miles Davenport.

Would it be a nice idea to put up a little giveaway and offer those as a price? I could put up a post announcing it and a form to gather participants, happy to help if that's something you'd like

That is a great idea. Please go ahead.

:)

I am eager for these to go to people who can use them.

Thanks

Miles.

Will do then, they'll sure find a home. Any idea for an easy+funny contest question?

How many software developers does it take to change a light-blue :)

Aww, I need something with individual answers to keep the contest anonymous. How about "Why is power important in software development?" (use 5 words)

Hello everyone. Firstly I would like to thank you all for entering the competition :-) There were over 60 entries, from all round the world.

The winning entry is "To energize the community", from someone in the Nederlands.

I loved this answer, as Jolla is all about community. Sharing code, open source, learning new things, trying something new, volunteering....it's all underpinned by community.

Congratulations. If the winner can contact reviewjolla@gmail.com, with your secret phrase, I will then get in touch, and send you the battery, and other-half cases.

Thanks

:)

Miles.

Thanks Miles, happy to help an awesome guy caring about us all! Sad for your display though :/

Fill this anonymous form to participate to a giveaway. The winner is announced both here and on Review Jolla in about a week. Notes:

  • Winner is selected from a country allowing delivering the battery via mail
  • Giveaway is anonymous. If you win, you're guided to send email to claim the prize. For that, write down your prize claiming pass.
  • You are allowed to submit several answers, but please be reasonable ;)

UPDATE: Time is up, link to participation form is removed. See the winning words in another answer by Miles. That answer can be accepted as correct when the winner has contacted us. Congrats also from the "middle man"!

Good luck getting the battery out of the UK at a reasonable price. I tried sending a battery back to Germany. The post office were adamant that I couldn't send it; unless it was connected to a device. The battery was for my N900, the same battery is used by the Nokia X6 (which I have an old X6 with no screen but it works). I told the seller that I'd send the battery back, attached to my old X6 but I would really like the X6 back - so; stick the new replacement battery in the device and post it back to me! - nope!, too complicated they said, so they simply sent a replacement battery, in a jiffy bag to the UK from Germany.

I have no idea how other 'couriers' deal with batteries, but I'm going to imagine that postal prices will outweigh the cost of a 'new' battery (yes, I know, there is no spoon (jolla batteries), but the Polarcell HTC310 battery works just fine in my Jolla. In fact, I feel it performs better than my Jolla battery, just my opinion of course.

By the way, I should also say; "what a bloody nice thing to do!" @chocksaway :)
