balancer tells me to empty space but file delete fails [answered]

yesterday everything was fine, today i can not balance due to an error saying: not enough space. balancer says 90% used (the day before yesterday it was 75%)

if i try to delete with browser app, it says: not enough space i can delete files from my laptop though, and laptop says 5GB free..

the last thing that i did yesterday was to install skype and i did a 2 min video call. btw: i did try to uninstall skype, but i have a 'critical problem with the store' ;-)

any ideas ?

There is something iffy with Sailfish file browsers. I have three of them installed and all of them fail to move a file from e.g. Downloads to the SD card. None of them tells me why, just that the operation failed. Moving the same file in the command line, through MTP (USB "PC connection") or SFTP works fine.
