i was looking at the LG Rolly, looks good but its about £50 / $50 (strangely!) - so has anyone got good words to say about this keyboard, or any other particular keyboard? I'm fairly apprehensive about the roll up rubber things, takes me back to the zx spectum (shudders)

Does it need to fold or roll?

it folds up along the long axis to make a short 'wand', no roll-up rubber! http://www.trustedreviews.com/lg-rolly-keyboard-review

I've recently been evaluating portable bluetooth keyboards for my Jolla phone. The best one currently available, in my opinion, is the Jorno: https://jornostore.com/

There are innumerable clones of this keyboard readily (and cheaply) available, but you get what you pay for. Many reviews of the clones complain about quality issues (failing keys, etc.). The original is very well crafted with a superb key action - well worth the money, in my opinion. (And everyone here knows we should be supporting the developers of cool tech!)

Another keyboard, long awaited, and still in beta-testing, is the TextBlade: https://waytools.com/

It should be available soon. And it'll probably be one of the best keyboards ever...

I tried many BT-keyboards, even a laser-projecting BT-keyboard which works fine but the Nokia SU-8W is most practical one for Jolla-tablet. You may find the Nokia SU-8W from Ebay. I very much recommend it!

Unfortunately, a lot of the keys don't work properly when the keyboard layout is set to German. That makes it useless unless you type letters/numbers only.

Not a roll-up one, but I use the Logitech K810 with my phone when I need to type longer texts... Works perfectly.

The same goes for Logitech K480, which might be more suitable for a tablet/phone.

I use the Logitech k380 for both my main computer (pretty much a HTPC) and for my phone. Thus typing is exactly the same wherever I am.

I use the Microsoft Universal Mobile Keyboard with my Jolla tablet and phone, as well as my HP stream tablet. It's expensive but I was able to find it for under £50 when I bought it, but it's worth it IMHO as the build quality is great, keys are very comfortable to use and the whole thing fits in a jacket or trouser pocket (at a push). As a writer who likes to be mobile I find it very pleasant to use and take it with me a lot.

As an aside I've harboured an almost pathological hatred of Microsoft corporation for the best part of 2 decades now but had to give in when I tested that keyboard.

How did you get it to work? I have Microsoft Foldable Keyboard but Jolla Tablet does not find it.
