I make this wiki thread because it was not accepted in another thread as an answer. It's for all the people on the last early release version which would like to have a reliable phone functionality back, but don't want to make a factory reset:

If you like to downgrade you can do that, by opting out of the early adopters program. I had to wait for around three hours, than an "upgrade" to Saimaa was shown. I disabled all my patches, downloaded and installed Saimaa. All went pretty well.

This information came from @Janssoni. Thank you very much for that. Hopefully the ignored calls are now history.

Well i think most of the early access users have already known, that it's easy to opt out. But I think most of us didn't know that opting out means that you can easily go back to the precious version - without Factory reset and all it's consequences. At least it was absolutely new for me. So there is one reason less to avoid early release updates ;)

And by the way, it would be nice, if a Sailor would confirm, that this behaviour is a feature and no accident.

that's new for me too, and find quite interesting. i think that would be interesting too to have the confirmation of it.
Maybe by invoking @Keto, he may have the answer or find the appropriate person for it.

Hmm, me thinks, it might be not so easy each and every time. In case when the 2 releases differ with regards to data schema, it won't be that smooth, since the older might not be able to read upgraded storage etc.

@piero That's why I asked for a statement of a sailor. I can't imagine that it works this way every time. The question is, is jolla than offering the downgrade even when it doesn't work, or is it a wanted behaviour and the downgrade option is only shown, when it there are no problems to expect.
