change DPI on Sailfish
How do we change DPI in Sailfish OS? I am using Intex Aqua Fish. Has anyone ever changed DPI on their Jolla handset? Are there any issues after changing the DPI?
We have moved to a new Sailfish OS Forum. Please start new discussions there.

You can change the zoom factor from 1.25 to 1.0.
From a terminal,
dconf write /desktop/sailfish/silica/theme_pixel_ratio 1.0
You also have to install the relative icon theme packages:
On Jolla C
pkcon install sailfish-content-graphics-jolla-z1.0
On Intex Aqua Fish
pkcon install sailfish-content-graphics-intex-z1.0
On Turing unicorns
pkcon install sailfish-content-graphics-turing-z1.0
Then restart lipstick with systemctl --user restart lipstick
or via sailfish-utilities.

vattuvarg ( 2016-08-07 23:04:24 +0200 )editDots per inch.. if you have used rooted android phone you would have stumbled upon it. Changing the dpi to a lesser value than the default will result in small text/icons resulting more items in the screen.
Mystel ( 2016-08-07 23:08:38 +0200 )edit@Mystel so that settings is totally misnamed in android then, because you cant change the dpi - its a property of the screen (hardware).
and no, afaik sailfish does not support a scalable UI yet, but that may come in the future with a wider range of screen sizes by sailfish phones...
misc11 ( 2016-08-08 04:36:03 +0200 )editBut it is possible to change the size of the app icons, I think.
vattuvarg ( 2016-08-08 12:50:53 +0200 )edit@vattuvarg well, some scaling was introduced for the tablet, but my guess is thats based on screensize and the user can not change that (at least from the gui). its not like you can have a slider and have everything scale...
