Hi
I'm trying to do backup to Dropbox, the account is active and should work. But Backup app always show me the same error result "Cannot send backup to cloud service". Here is error from log:

Standard error was:
tar: Removing leading `/' from member names
[UI] Finalising operation
[UI] Triggered backups upload to cloud account 15 from dir /tmp/jolla-vault-cloud
[UI] Sync error: Unable to start sync!

Can someone explain me what this error and what I need to do ?

Just to make sure; this is 2.0.2.48 right? Is it JollaC or Jolla?

No, it's jolla1 with 2.0.3.14. I'm trying to do backup on it and restore later to jollaC. If I do it to memory card, all work ok, but restore on jollaC is not complete, it not restore contacts, notes, calendar, sms and call history... but image in the end of process show all is ok. Now I want to try the same with Dropbox.
Also one interesting stuff, that backup not stored anymore in /home/nemo/.vault. I even can't find all.vcf file that was here on previous versions. I found that backup process creating temp files in /temp directly and when all finished (sent to dropbox or memory card) this files deleted automatically.

Can't replicate this problem, backing up and restoring to Dropbox is working as expected. I'm on 2.0.248 (Aurojoki EA).....I was using 2.0.3.14 but I found many things had stopped working, like SSH'ing in Terminal. As soon as I went back to EA release, no more weird problems.

Spam Hunter ( 2016-08-16 14:18:01 +0200 )edit

Hmmm, I don't have any problems on 2.0.3.14 except this one.. I tested on 3G and wifi on my work, may this is a ptoblem. I will try to do this on my home network later.
But what mean this error:

Standard error was:
tar: Removing leading `/' from member names
[UI] Finalising operation
[UI] Triggered backups upload to cloud account 15 from dir /tmp/jolla-vault-cloud
[UI] Sync error: Unable to start sync!

What it mean "tar: Removing leading `/' from member names" ?

it means that the directories are stored in your backup archive withouth a starting "/", I guess in order to not overwrite existing files by accident on extraction

Ok, finally I solved this problem :) The problem was in a dropbox account... I removed it and recreated new one. Backup app immediately uploaded my backup ! But now restore option don't see this backup, why??? Tried again recreate account, but it still doesn't see my backup file, not on Jolla1 and not on JollaC...
I checked dropbox and found that backup file located inside a few folders, I copied it to the one before the last folder and magic happens, restore option in backup app now see this backup and restored it without any problem!!!
Finally I have got all my contacts, notes, calendars, sms, call history etc on my new Jolla C :)
End of story...

P.S. I also tested creating backup on JollaC and Tablet, and now I can see that only Jolla1 created wrong folders tree (one folder is unnecessary).
