Hello sailors,

in wikipedia it is written that jp1 official support sdhc with 32gb capacity maximum. And may support 64gb.

That's an old article, and many thread on tjc handle on it, but it's not really clear for me.

May we have information on how is the highest capacity supported for sdhc by jp1?
With no complex tinker. Just want to put my sdcard inside.

Thx in advance for answer

have a nice trip. Cheers

The article is still valid, SDHC max capacity is 32GB and the specs won't change.

Unofficially, we know that the phone can mount SD cards of at least 128GB without problem, it they are formatted correctly or if you have installed the necessary modules.

Well officially Jolla supports SDHC cards up to 32 GB because they come preformatted as FAT32. Bigger SDXC cards come preformatted with the exFAT filesystem, which is Microsofts proprietary and Jolla is not allowed to use without paying license fees (for which Jolla decided to not pay for).

So without any effort/ tinkering you are able to use Micro SD cards up to 32 GB but you will be able to use SDXC cards if you format them from exFAT to FAT (or maybe also EXT). Since Sailfish OS 2.0.2.51 it is also possible to format the SD cards inside Setting > Storage.
