Since latest update 2.0.4.14 jolla messaging app plays the im notification sound instead of the more decent "tock" sound if window is active and you are chatting with someone.

I preferred the more decent sound instead of the notification sound which is annoying as the notification sound should notify me if the phone is inside my pocket, but I dont need that sound if actively chatting. This behaviour has chsnged from 2.0.2.x to the current update and should be considered as a bug.

Update 20161028: As @nthn reported and verified on my J1, too, the bug affects only receiving IM messages(xmpp here), but not SMS. Active window on receiving incoming SMS plays "tock" sound correctly.

Does this happen for all messages or only for SMS or IM? I get the 'tock' sound for SMS at least, didn't check IM yet.

I only tested this with my private XMPP server, but will ask my wife to send me a sms being in the active chat window and let you know.

@nthn ACK, sms seems to sound as expected.

Same here. I can confirm this behaviour for two devices. Personally, I don't like the new behaviour and I would prefer to have the "tock" again. I think it is a bug.
