It would be great to be able to copy just a segment from a sms to the clipboard. currently you have to copy the whole thing and paste content somewhere to be avle to copy just the part you need.

You are completely right, same as with email, browser and whatnot. That's why we would rather like to see a system-wide clipboard, copy and paste capability: https://together.jolla.com/question/832/system-wide-clipboard-copy-paste-capability/

Yeah, it should work in the same way as copying from input field, with this two knobs to mark start and end....
