Hi, after the recent update I now seem to have problems with playing videos I received in Whatsapp. All videos are as least double as fast played but not fluid and without sound. I already suspected gstreamer as a possible root since I read that this was a part of the updates but how to fix it?

I tried installing Gstreamer 1.8.3. Plugins Ugly (JollaPhone) from Ipr Openrepos link but nothing improved and installing the Bad variant gave an error: There is no update candidate for gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad-1.8.3+git.1.11.2.armv7hl

Does anybody have the same problem or an idea for solution?

I just realised NO VIDEO can be played ...even the ones made by the cam are not playable. and the complete gallery app somehow crashes in style and font! In the pic you can see also a little square in the centre this isthe mini version of the playing video but stopped. Totally strange behavior that I have never seen before

Gallery crash

@PatsJolla this is due to warehouse-app having problems with vendor-change Jolla->lpr repo as well as naming packages correctly (upload somepackage+git1-1.1.1.armv7hl.rpm to openrepos and you will get somepackagegit1-1.1.1.armv7hl.rpm as result). As mentioned in changelog you may have to use commandline (zypper/pkcon/rpm...) to install gstreamer bad.

Hi @lpr I actually installed (your?) lpr gstreamer package but I still have problems with webm files and other "gifs". Are you talking about the 2.0.5.6 release notes or the ones from openrepos? Because I have problems to find the mentioning of the zypper installation method.

I think I found the solution: I double checked all openrepos I had enabled and found that I still "used" openrepos-ruedigergad with: gstreamer1.0-libav | GStreamer Streaming-media framework plug-in using libav (FFmpeg).

Seems like it is now much too outdated and the repository is not maintained anymore so I uninstalled and deactivated everything and now my videos are working again.

I leave the thread open for some days to see if everything is fine again, then I can close it.

Unfortunately not everything is solved by this method... so the solution is something different

I checked it but by description it is not talking about self made videos and to me it is not clear if gstreamer is really the problem. I guessed but the updates I made yesterday changed nothing..unfortunately
