eUICC (eSIM) on Jolla phone

Hi Guys, Anybody heard about Jolla works toward eUICC (eSIM) technology actively promoted by GSMA. As you probably know it is embedded SIM card approach that is provisioned remotely in order to be personalized. Thanks for any input!

Please Jolla, don't even think about the eSIM.

How is it operationally different? Would it lock the user to a pre-alloted carrier? Or is that software-defined and changeable?

Yes, it is changeable. Initially the handset has the blank SIM card profile. When the consumer gets his device he selects the carrier. So everything is done remotely on the software level. .

So for the consumer device it requires implementing the routine for remote personalisation and user interface for selecting subscription. I am also wondering how it should look like.
