Hello,

My phone had turned off last night and now that I started charging it the LED started blinking red and the normal charging animation didn't play on the screen. The user guide doesn't mention blinking red option at all: http://jolla.com/guide/#sec-3

I'm little bit afraid that there may be something wrong as the battery level was more than 60 % just nine hourse ago so it's hard to imagine the phone would have shut down due to deplepted battery... Still this question is really about the red blinking missing from the manual.

Ok, now it has turned solid blue (not desribed in the guide either) and the charging animation runs on the screen.

Not sure, but I think this has to do with the battery. If it is discharged "too much", there might be not enough power even to run the routine that displays the charging animation.

You may have noticed the LED at the bottom of your Jolla. This tells you about power and charging:

white : switching on red : switching off pale white : charging pale white blinking : fully charged

It also uses the same colours as your main apps to tell you if you've missed something: green blinking : missed call blue blinking : missed message yellow blinking : new email

Yes, those I knew already but what means "blinking red" and "solid blue" when the phone is off but charging?

Btw, eventually the phone started up normally from that "solid blue & charging screen" state.

I found out, by looking in the LED config file, that solid blue (or sky blue as it's called there) is charging while battery is flat out. I don't know what blinking red means though, some sort of error I'd guess.

Blinking red is not a problem - it just means that the battery really is quite empty and is charging before it boots.

We'll get the user guide updated.

So what's the difference between that and solid (sky) blue, which should be charging a flat battery

the blinking red is done in lower level hardware before the kernel boots up :)

hm, I just had blinking red with 45% battery running SGAuth. The program froze - no swiping possible anymore, black screen, blinking red. After rebooting still 45% battery :-/

Yeah, red blinking led is definitely also an error - I've just had it lock up completely flashing red at 77% battery.

I had this red fast blinking twice this morning while using the phone with 65% of battery.

Firstly the phone display freeze, touchscreen doesn't respond, the only thing that I was able to do is pressing the power boutton (i didn't try to hold this last). Then the screen turn off and the LED start to blink fast, around a minute after everything is back to normal.

The same thing happened a few minutes later, exactly in the same way, after that I rebooted the phone.
