May I ask what exactly do mean? I hope that a keyboard with a Sailfish device is not a joke for you? And why do you think so? Really, please explain. I just think those are natural consequences of a term "national OS". I really doubt new consortia want it only for mobile deceives, or in other words only for mobiles. And really it is Linux of general purpose, it is no joke. That, as consequence, implies also from IBM objectives in the past: a) create demand for Atom b) support Linux competitive to other dominating OSes. It is only a question of will to use it in this way IMHO.

1. Russia has announced Sailfish as a national mobile OS. Didn't hear any official info from China, but I guess it's the same there.

2. When you speak about desktop OS, you presume a windows-based multitasking and navigation optimized for mouse & keyboard, not swipe-based one of SFOS.

So, SFOS can be adapted for laptop/desktop usage, but it requires lots of work and there's no reason for Jolla to make it a high priority task.

@Aldrog 1st of all: lets take it easy, as conversation - not a fight, please. * I am about consequences or follow up of assumed it as national OS, yes mobile, but anyway that mean they assumed it is worth to work with it further. My supposition is that finally it will be used wider in context, not only in mobiles. * I'v seen a time ago Lenovo 22" touchable screen which has realised to be fully working computer built in the touchable screen. Having speakers, keyboard and mouse, lets say vertical Surface. I think Sailfish gestures navigation would work better with that device. Gestures and mouse and keyboard navigation can be combined and can be complementary to each other. * I think pretty soon Sailfish users there will want to have one ecosystem, so have the same OS in mobiles and at last in tablets, and in the next steps in desktops - if only they will find Sailfish OS useful in mobile devices. And I can bet they will. * Connected mobile device to a desktop will become an active silica tail on the desktop screen and would behave as pendrive or remote (similarly e.g. TeamViewer) controlled device (copying, synchronising, eg uploading routes for couriers and downloading logs of finished tasks) no meter via USB or via air. * Even today we already need synchronisation with other devices I think. And we do it manually when we can. They will need solution for high efficient support in everyday practise of huge institutions. And the need is the mother of invention - this is what I mean saying "in consequence" * It is not for tomorrow or the day after, but I think in predictable horizon between 3 to 9 years. I haven't said "high priority task" however would be good to have a scenario if partners would demand to set this as priority task or would try to promote completely incompatible solutions. * The question is if Jolla has remembered in licensing and agreements/contracts to secure its interests in case of such scenario to become reality soon??
