Office Communicator IM integration?

Is there a way to connect to MS Office Communicator? We already have MS-Sync, would be real nice to have the IM part as well.

N900 and N9 did have solution for this -- it was in the HIRO package, although I am not sure how open it is --, so I hope it wouldn't be that difficult to port.

Yeah, that purple-sipe sounds familiar :) However, I do remember that some tweaking was needed for maemo/meego as with the "out-of-the-box" haze/purple/pidgin stuff it didn't work well. Can't recall specifics, I hope some wiser man than me will read this :-)
