Text message sending

Just too many times I have hit the 'Send' field when I have just tried to fix the message resulting in an incomplete message and wondering at the other end. Is it possible to change the sending method to e.g. swipe upwards, analogically to sending email?

If you're accidentally sending messages by trying to place the cursor close to the Send button, you can move the cursor by touching where it currently is and moving your finger slightly downwards, that will zoom in on the text and you get a lot more precision on where the cursor ends up (and you can't accidentally press any buttons this way).

This patch is absolutely marvellous! This feature should be part of the official release, because this should help everybody's life. Thanks!

Install Messages layout patch and then go to:

Settings -> Apps -> Messages -> Tap and hold to send

Odd, I don't have this option. Which SFOS version are you on?

Install patch and then restart services to provide changes. I use 2.1.0.11 but it's working on previous versions.

I have trouble installing this patch. I have enabled the installation of any unreliable software, but still I can't install this patch.

ahhh, I didn't see the text about it being a patch, I understand now. i thought it was part of the System Settings, not 3rd party. Thanks for the info :)

Hello, unfortunately this wonderful patch has stopped working recently?!

Is there any hope seeing it work again ever?

Thanks!

Thanks for the tip! I found a newer patch in OpenRepos, which also installed as rpm, but wouldn't install as a patch. I suppose it has happened earlier that the patch has been active while installing the Sailfish OS update. Is it possible that it has caused this issue?
