Due to inconsistencies when on the edge of a wifi network I often turn my wifi off to avoid the poor experience that leads to.

However, I often then forget to turn my wifi back on again (hence to have accidentally used a whole pile of mobile data).

Someone was talking about a model where you can turn off wifi for an amount of time as a workaround for this (to avoid the "accidentally forget to turn it back on" issue). Eg "Turn off wifi {for 10 minutes, for 1 hour, permanently}"

I feel like this could be a useful feature for Sailfish OS.

Have you tried the Situations app from Jolla store? Perhaps it could suit yor needs.

Good thought, thanks @nille. I still think a builtin feature would be nicer, but I'll have a look at whether Situations can help :-)

situation work well for me too. consider it as a good workaround.
A built in feature like this may be interesting... i don't know...
