[Feature Request] People to honour large text setting [answered]

My eyesight isn't the best and I have text large in the settings. However, when looking at a contact in "people" the text is still small and I can't make out the phone numbers.

Can it be made that the "people" program honour the larger text requirement and enlarge the details please.

Would be good to have scalable fonts or whole screen everywhere, always, as OS feature option... Don't blame me for vectorisation idea... And that it is not coming soon... But some-when in future? With Sailfish 2597.0.1.3 maybe? ;-)

Another possibility which worked in SFOS 1 is the terminal command

dconf write /desktop/jolla/theme/font/sizeMultiplier 1.1

this enlarges font sizes by 10% in many applications (mail, sms, phonebook) and i use it since i found it out.

Thanks. I'll give that a check. Does it require a reboot?

If you use the command shown above, you will find that the font size settings in Display no longer function. To fix that problem (or not), enter this;

dconf reset /desktop/jolla/theme/font/sizeMultiplier

Did 1.3 and I'm happy with that. Much more readable when comfortably held in the hand. Thanks for the code to reset it.

You might find that general formatting in apps has gone right out the window when adjusting the multiplier.

It seems that it does honour the settings. At least, I do see changes in font sizes, including the phone number.

Perhaps you mean in a different view to the one above?, although, I've had a good look at all aspects of the People app, including editing the contact card, all font sizes do change, but they are a bit small to start with, at least for ageing eyes...like mine!, so maybe the actual font size setting in the QML files could be upped and possibly add a 'negative' font size setting (making 'Normal', smaller) for those whipper snapper 20 somethings with 20/20 vision!

I took some screen shots and you are correct. There is a difference, but even to my 47 year old eye sight, "huge" is still difficult to read. Perhaps another size setting, "Humongous." ?

I think my problem is my glasses are set for everyday use, ie. everything from distance for driving and using computers at arms length. Mobile phones and devices closer to my face, are blurry without changing glasses. In the case of books that isn't a problem but mobile phones are an everyday item, which makes them more difficult to use with small text... having to put on a different set of glasses every time I pick up the phone would be insane. I'm looking forward to larger phones coming on stream with Sailfish on board, in due course. My eyesight isn't that far out, about 2.5, and I've been using screens most of my life, starting game playing at about 13-ish and a career in I.T.

Ditto, same age here, but 'Large' is okay for me, although some colour schemes (poorly designed ambience) prevent me from reading some text/fonts and setting Huge just breaks almost all formatting for every application. Still lots of work to do Jolla....yeah, like scrapping the whole ambience idea!
