Screen rotation should be more permanent

We all know yo can prevent the screen from rotating by keeping you finger on the screen when rotating. Nice.

But I would like this lock to be more permanent.

Yes it should unlock when you clearly rotate the phone without a finger on the screen. But this currently is a bit sensitive, especially when the phone is held horizontally.

Also there are many events where the lock is released while the phone doesn't even move. I understand that some thing still don't work in landscape mode and the phone has to switch to portrait, but that should not release the lock and the screen should rotate back as soon as possible.

yup experiencing the same screen rotate fails with phone horizontal because its mot using the compass sensor, as it should.

You are aware of the settings\ display\ orientation combobox? This will set the orientation permanent. But the ui is not completely adapted to that setting (e.g. covers are mostly not able to adapt to landscape mode)...

I think this is a duplicate of Don't change locked orientation when opening / maximising apps.
