First of all I want to say that the Jolla contact app is excellent. Best contact app ever I used. There is only one small impediment in usage: If I open it, the mosaic slides downwards out of the screen because the recent contacts, which are also accessible in the dialer app. I think you had a reason to show recent contacts here as well, even I do not see one, but how about a compromise?

Place the "recent contact" below the mosaic, there is still enough place left to show the most used recent contacts in the first screen without scrolling.

Until now I need the patch "hide recent contacts", but in my opinion, it could be done without.

It is reasonable to have the most used ones on top. Those are the ones you are most likely to contact again. It would be a bad UI design to hide them down in the alpha-grid.

Why not put the "recent contacts" list into the mosaic as well? The tile left of the A (with the globe symbol) is not used in my case. Is it used for anything? Putting the list there would be a solution making likers and dislikers of "recent contacts on top" happy.

Or am I wrong?

@bennyV therefore the dialer app is the best place for it. Here you will find only the recent list. But if i like to look for a contact, I need to use the contact app and then it is not very usable to see how the mosaic runs down out of the screen as soon as the recent list is loaded... And I don't want to hide them down, I would show them just after the mosaic.

@Spark the globe is for online contacts. here you will see all the contact which are online for jabber, skype und icq... but the last mosaic, which is empty could be user as well, it is even easier to reach witch the thumb.
