After a long ride I managed to get the script working for my Xperia but it seems to be the wrong device oO. In the description of Jolla you'll find this :"You will need to purchase the Sony XperiaTM X (single SIM version) yourself." I think my xperia is exactly that...it's version number s f3111. Is it possible to get a jolla version for my device soon? And if anybody knows: what is the problem with f3111?

This script is not meant for device F3111.
Please connect the right device and try again.

Btw: I can find no clear description of the difference between the F3XXX phones. In the featurelist they are quite the same. http://de.gsmchoice.com/de/katalog/sony/xperiaxa/Sony-Xperia-XA.html

As you wrote yourself: you need a Sony Xperia X. You have a Sony Xperia XA. Wrong model.

No upcoming support.

And don't wait for it.

Reason being that the Xperia XAs are based on Mediathek Chips and they usually don't care about licenses and violate them in not releasing their drivers or kernel sources properly.

Your model F3111 aka. Sony Xperia XA is a discount variant made by Sony. This is mainly due to the processor (CPU) vendor Mediatek which apart from in most cases being slower than Qualcomm Snapdragon also doesn't support the Sony Open Devices-program hence little chance for future SailfishOS support.

Sony Xperia X aka. F5121 (different phone) does have a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, offical support for Sony Open Devices-program and the Sailfish X-release.

TLDR: Xperia XA is NOT the same phone as Xperia X and it has a slower CPU not supported by Sony Open Devices-program/Saifish X.

Good answer. I didn't notice that when I started this question. And it also answers why it is not supported / not to be expected. TY. Can I install -this- sailfish os on another device? There are some devices in this list: https://wiki.merproject.org/wiki/Adaptations/libhybris Do they work with the sailfish X software?

You're welcome. I would clearly recommend getting an Xperia X (F5121) for proper Sailfish X-support. You can install SailfishOS on other devices (as described in your link) but you'll not get the same experience and official updates from Jolla. That said Nexus 5 should have a good port (if you don't need official Android support or don't mind installing it yourself) but I haven't tried it myself. At this time no other devices than the Xperia X is supported by the Sailfish X-program.
