I didn't find any instructions on how to install the payed version of sailfishos for Xperia X over the free version. So to save other people a few hours, here it what worked for me:

  1. boot hybris-recovery.img and select erase everything
  2. run flash.sh
edit retag flag offensive reopen delete

Yes, but that was what I wanted. I did backup of what was of interest before.

Am I missing something, or there is no difference between free and paid versions, except that once you pay you will find the copyrighted software available for download in the Store? EDIT: Maybe you were referring to official vs. community builds?

a little off topic; I often see certain words spelt incorrectly, in this case, the word 'payed' when it should be 'paid', but interestingly, the spelling 'payed' is a nautical term and refers to sealing gaps in a ships decking. ;)

So from a Jolla perspective it is spelled correctly if she goes by the name Sailfish. ;)

Well, it was never really a question, but I'm adding the magic line:

sudo fastboot boot hybris-recovery.img

edit flag offensive delete publish link more

will this work again one year later from free version xa2 to full version xa2?

Same question here. I tested free version for 10 days now and want to to buy full Sailfish X for my Xperia. Is it still the same procedure to upgrade from free to paid?
