For my teenage son I'm considering getting a Sony XperiaX and install SailfishX on it. I have seen refurbished phones for around 200 euro but I am on a budget and wonder if there are cheaper alternatives? Is 200 euro a good price or can I get one for less?

in norway you can get a new xperia x with unlockable bootloader for 250 euros. so 200 euros for a used one is a bad deal imho. I paid 110 euro for a used one.
That kind of the ball park price I am looking for. See if I can get a friend from there to help out.

I bought a used Xperia X on an eBay auction for $130. I saw a few others in that price range , but not sure if you can buy in Europe or if ebay there might have similar prices

I would say 200 is on the top of the price range. I bought a almost new one (couple of months old) for 140€ on marktplaats, but that was a bargain.

Problem with refurbished ones is ensuring that you can unlock bootloader. From UK perspective most refurbished ones are network locked devices subsequently unlocked for which bootloader unlock = No
