[SAILFISH X] Playing ALAC (Apple Lossless) audio files [answered]

Hi everyone, I'm switching from an iPhone to a Xperia X running Sailfish OS. All my digital music library is encoded using Apple Lossless Audio Codec. I've not found any audio player app on SFOS being able to play this kind of files. Is it possible to add the ALAC suport to the default media player app in SFOS ?

Thanks in advance.

PS : sorry for my English, it's not my native language.

One option is to convert the ALAC files to FLAC with ffmpeg.

That's an option but as I have more than 100 GB of digital music, I'd prefer find an ALAC files player on my sailfish OS device.

you can try gstreamer plugins ugly 1.10.5 (jollaphone) available from openrepos. This should be sufficient to play alac files with most applications including jolla mediaplayer. Tags and metadata most likely will not work...

Thanks too. I will give it a try when I will have more time.
