Bonding of networks interfaces

Would be nice if network interface bonding could be supported. I often find my self in places there both wlan and mobile coverage is spotty and the switch between the two is far from seamless. Especially if you still have a wlan connection but it's weak.
Are there any technical reason that this couldn't be done?
Well, the bonding kernel module is not compiled in to the kernel (at least on SFOS-X and J1). Technical reason, probably none, I suppose it could be done,
