File Browser that opens videos and photos? [answered]

File Browser has the 'open' option but it does nothing, the built in file system just takes you to the gallery mess of all the videos together.

Cargo Dock didn't seem to work and it's now gone funny since I updated it.

Is there anything that can help me find these files in some osrt of order and open them directly please. I often need to find a file for work and don't have time to scroll through thousands of photos to open the right one.

I recenly installed LLs videoPlayer and mimer from openrepos and 'open' in the File Browser now opens videos in that.

You can't AFAICS just go back like you mostly can on Android.

Filetug found on openrepos does a splendid job of showing video and images without the need for another third party application.

File Browser _should_ open the video, it does so at my Sony. Have you ever installed Aliendalvik Control from OpernRepos? This once messed up my /usr/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache.

You might edit this file manually as devel-su (make sure you keep a copy of the current version), these are my entries containing "videoplayer":

I'm interested in this line:
audio/mp4=jolla-mediaplayer-openfile.desktop;harbour-videoPlayer.desktop;

After installing LLs videoPlayer and mimer, as I mentioned in my earlier answer, I set audio to play with it. But I decided I preferred using the jolla media player so that it would play in background. So I used mimer's 'Set everything to defaults' option. I now have this line:
audio/mp4=harbour-videoPlayer.desktop;jolla-mediaplayer-openfile.desktop;

It does open audio in the jolla player - so I assume it takes the last entry. BUT the app I'm using does not play the audio file - which it used to. It just goes to the 'Media' page of the player. Why might that be?

This is connected with my question here I want to open an audio/mp2t in an audio player (not a video player).

Can't give no helpful hint here. For audio I use the Muuzik! -player from vostoksystem.eu as a folder based player. So I use the old style "open from application" instead "open by file type".

But I noticed that some apps have priority somehow when playing sounds. For example, when playing music by Muuzik! and then starting a video in Piepmatz, Muuzik! stops immediately to let the internal video player take control. Found no way to play music and videos at the same time so far.

In my case the app downloads the file and there is a button to play it. I don't want to open a player and search for it.
